I took a trip to Carna to hear Irish the way it is meant to be spoken. I found Tigh Mheaic and a lot of nice people speaking Irish. Padraig treated me with the finest drinks and friends in all Eire. I saw a documentary about Carna 30 years ago and wanted to go there ever since. Tigh Mheaic was the highlight of my trip. I saw the heart of a nation and heard the ancient sound of its beautiful language at Tigh Mheaic. Thanks for a great visit mo cara. There could not possibly be a greater pub in all the land.

Excellent pub with local culture in regards to Galway Hooker's, the traditional sailboats of the area! Every picture in the bar has an interesting history behind it! Just ask!

Lovely little spot. They were speaking Irish when we came in. Had a pint of Guinness and a pint of cider for the wife. Can't wait to go back. Good memories.

I unexpectedly had my birthday lunch here with my family, as we toured Connemara in a camper van for the Easter weekend. The kids shared two homemade pizzas, both delicious, and my husband and I had the monkfish special - it was exquisite! Service was quick, friendly and unfussy. A gem of a place.

Great friendly people, have lunch here when staying on the beautiful Finis island. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Food is great and always a nice open fire to sip the excellent Guinness beside. Great spot!
