Established in 1880 and located in scenic Carna, Co. Galway, a notable Gaeltacht area, Tigh Mheaic is a traditional Irish bar and restaurant with a modern twist. We host regular entertainment which includes traditional Irish music and you are always guaranteed a warm welcome when you visit. Our breakfast, lunch and dinner menus feature locally sourced food with options available for vegetarians, vegans and those with special dietary requirements.

Tigh Mheaic is open from 10am till late Monday through Saturday and from 11am on Sundays.

I took a trip to Carna to hear Irish the way it is meant to be spoken. I found Tigh Mheaic and a lot of nice people speaking Irish. Padraig treated me with the finest drinks and friends in all Eire. I saw a documentary about Carna 30 years ago and wanted to go there ever since. Tigh Mheaic was the highlight of my trip. I saw the heart of a nation and heard the ancient sound of its beautiful language at Tigh Mheaic. Thanks for a great visit mo cara. There could not possibly be a greater pub in all the land.
